FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire in a top floor bedroom in Stonehouse.
At 10.44pm last night Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue received an emergency call stating that alarms were activating in a three storey house on Pearcroft Road and a fire had been discovered in the top floor bedroom.
Two appliances from Stroud Fire Station attended the scene and one jet, one hosereel and breathing apparatus to deal with the fire.
The third floor of the house was extensively damaged by fire and one cat died at the scene sadly.
The crews were detained at the scene for just over an hour dealing with the incident.
