DONKEYS will hide throughout the town centre of Dursley so that schoolchildren from a local academy can hunt them out to enter a prize draw.
Dursley Church of England Primary Academy will host their Hoof Family Festival in June and the town donkey trail will run until the day of the event.
Each of the 14 donkeys was designed between classes at the academy and local artists, who took the children’s ideas and went away to complete the finished piece.
Vice principal at the academy Dave Wright said: "This idea was launched for the first time last year and it was a really big success.
"It's particularly lovely for the children because they play a major role in giving the donkey its own personality and identity."
The festival will see the donkeys auctioned off to raise money for their stage in the assembly hall. Last year some donkey's went for more than £100.
A lot of the work on the stage was completed last year following the success of the festival’s first outing. Staff and parents hope that more fundraising will help transform the stage into an ideal and well-used asset for performances.
The festival on June 13 will run at the school from 2 to 7pm and include live music, a barbecue, a bar, a football tournament, arts and crafts, a climbing wall, stalls and games and more.
