DEVELOPERS paid a visit to a school in Cam to speak to young pupils about life in the construction industry.

Gloucester’s Newland Homes visited Cam Woodfield Junior School in Elstub Lane recently after building a relationship with the school during the construction of their ‘Strawberry Fields’ development.

The school, which is situated just across the road from the new development, invited staff from Newland to talk to the children in a special assembly about building new homes and careers in the construction industry after they assisted the school in purchasing 70 new tablet computers.

“The children were really switched on and asked lots of thoughtful questions about the houses,” said Newland Homes sales manager Gail Remnant.

“They were particularly interested in how we looked after the environment and wanted to know all about the energy-saving measures in our new houses.

Head teacher Jan Cowley said: “Throughout the build, the team at Newland Homes have been unfailingly polite and patient. We have found their staff to be courteous and honest and we have built a positive relationship.”
