A GRANT scheme from Gloucestershire County Council is encouraging more sport and physical activity across the county in its second outing.

The Active Together grants helped out a number of community projects across the county last year and is now open again to a range of community groups – from sports clubs and scout groups to parish councils and schools.

There is £40,000 of funding available in each of the 53 county council electoral divisions in Gloucestershire, all waiting to go towards schemes revolving around physical activity.

The scheme will make it easier for people in Gloucestershire to stay active by giving local communities the control to create their own opportunities to get active and healthy together.

Funding can be used to encourage sport and physical activity projects in from community walks to alternative sports classes, outdoor gyms through to skateboard parks - as long as it gets people in the community active.
