POLICE are seeking information on a baffling incident in which a large tree was chopped down and removed from a garden in Gloucester without the owner's consent.
The victim had been away for a few days from her home in Underhill Road, Matson, when it happened.
Neighbours later told her they saw a van and workmen at the scene on the evening of 7 July, but no-one appears to have witnessed the tree being cut down.
A fence and flower beds were damaged in the process.
Anyone who knows who is responsible for the removal of the tree or has any information which could help with the enquiry is asked to call 101, quoting incident 366 of 19 July 2015.
