POLICE are appealing for information after a fatal collision in the Cotswolds.

The incident happened on the A429 near Fossbridge at about 1am yesterday morning (July 23).

An Audi Q7 and a Vauxhall Astra from the Milton Keynes area were travelling from Northleach towards Cirencester when the Vauxhall collided with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction and the Audi lost control and came to a halt in a ditch. Sadly the passenger of the Audi, a 25-year-old man and the 38-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall both died.

The driver of the Audi was taken by air ambulance to Great Western Hospital in Swindon. He remains in hospital,  however his injuries are not believed to life-threatening.

The driver of the lorry was physically uninjured as a result of the collision.

Officers investigating would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, in particular anyone who may have seen the Audi and the Vauxhall in the moments leading up to the incident. Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 22 of July 23.
