THREE men who are believed to have tampered with a car they were looking to buy are being sought by police in Dursley.
The car's owner had advertised the vehicle for sale and arranged for the viewing at his home in Fourth Avenue, at about 5.30pm last Wednesday.
The seller was kept talking by one of the men, but noticed the other two pouring oil into the expansion tank of his car.
When he challenged them, all three quickly got back into their own vehicle - a red Mercedes with a '63 number plate - and drove off.
The offenders were Asian with short dark hair and each had the following description:
- late 20s/early 30s, of 'podgy' build and with a small beard, wearing a black vest top
- late 20s/early 30s, 6ft tall, of muscular build and with tattoes on his arms, wearing a white T-shirt
- 5ft 10 ins tall, of average build
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 377 of July 22.
