FIREFIGHTERS from Dursley and Wotton-under-Edge were called to a house fire in Sharpness at around 7pm on Saturday.
Upon arrival crews confirmed the property was well alight. Firefighters used one jet, two hosereels and four breathing apparatus to deal with the blaze.
80 per cent of the first floor of the dwelling was severely damaged in the fire. One adult female was tended to by South Western Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
The red cross support vehicle attended the incident to offer assistance to the homeowners that were affected by the fire.
Fire crews were on scene for approximately two hours.
