AN EVENT is being held by the Labour Party for the Cam and Dursley area

The event will be held for party members and supporters in Kingshill House, Dursley, on Sunday, as a way of involving more people in how Labour makes policy and runs campaigns.

Chairman of the Cam, Dursley and Berkeley Labour group Paul Denney said: “In Jeremy Corbyn, Labour now has a Leader who believes people should be involved in a shared project to set out a clear and common sense vision for the future of this country so that it works for everyone, not just a few."

“There are more than 300 members, affiliates and registered supporters in the Cam, Dursley and Berkeley Labour Party now, with more interested and joining each week.

“We're hoping to get a lot of people together on Sunday in order to widen the debate about priorities for future campaigning and policies - locally and nationally.”

Mr Denney said that creating a more democratic politics that involves and empowers people was not an easy task, but that starting locally to involve more people was a good start.

The event, which includes tea and homemade cake, will take place between 2 and 4pm at Kingshill House.
