FOLLOWING a police investigation into the alleged attempted robbery of a female victim in a layby off the A436 at Seven Springs on 25 August, the woman has admitted that she fabricated the claim.
The woman, 24, from Gloucester, has been served with a fixed penalty notice for wasting police time and will seek appropriate support.
Karen Ellis, Cotswolds Neighbourhood Policing Inspector, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to resolve this allegation and establish that this locality doesn’t represent the danger that had been feared.”
