GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police are appealing to anyone with information on a burglary in Frocester last week.

Officers were called to a property in Leonard Stanley Road on Friday, November 20 following reports of a break in.

The householder returned home just after 5pm to find that unknown offenders had broken in sometime during the day and stolen some jewellery.

The police have requested anyone with information that could assist their enquiries, such as seeing unfamiliar people or a strange vehicle in the area, please call 101 quoting incident number 389 of November 20 2015.

This comes as Gloucestershire Constabulary issued a warning to people against complacency regarding burglary.

Burglary is hugely distressing but unfortunately just because you’ve been a victim once does not mean it can’t happen again.

Officers in Gloucestershire have recently been called to properties in Winchcombe, Redmarley and Forthampton where high value items have been stolen and these same addresses were broken into a few years ago.

As part of Operations Switch, residents are encouraged to take steps to prevent their properties becoming easy targets for burglars.

These include ensuring a light is kept on throughout the evening with timers, setting burglar alarms, locking doors and keeping keys out of sight.

Homeowners are also being encouraged to join their neighbourhood watch, with anyone wishing to know more, to contact neighbourhood watch officer Bob Lloyd on 01452 752086 or bob.lloyd@gloucestershire.police.uk.
