POLICE are appealing for information after a man in his 70s was assaulted in Cheltenham.
The incident happened on Carter Road at around 4.15pm on Thursday January 21.
The victim, a 71-year-old local man, was walking his dog when he was approached by the offender. Words were exchanged and the offender has then assaulted the victim with a glass bottle, causing the victim head injuries.
The offender is described as white, male and between 32 and 40-years-of-age. He was of medium build and around 5ft 7ins tall. He was scruffy looking and wearing a hi-vis jacket.
Anyone with information on this incident should call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 426 of January 22.
