DUTCH police have found the body of missing man Richard Cole in a canal near Thorbeckeplein, Amsterdam.
The body was found yesterday at around 11pm, Dutch time, and has been formally identified.
Mr Cole had been missing since last Monday and had last been seen in Coco's Outback bar.
Gloucestershire Police have been informed of the discovery by Richard Cole’s family and Dutch Police.
Dutch police will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Richard’s death and detectives from Gloucestershire will be liaising with them in order to provide information to the coroner’s office.
Richard has been formally identified by his brother Lee and the family are now asking that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
The family is in contact with the British Consulate and Gloucestershire Police continues to offer support from a family liaison officer.
