POLICE are appealing for information after a road-rage incident where a man was assaulted in a Cheltenham car park.
The incident happened in the car park of Sainsbury's on Gallagher retail park on Tewkesbury Road at around 12.30pm on Friday January 22.
The victim, a 68-year-old local man who was driving a blue Audi A4 had noticed that the offender was using his mobile phone while driving. He shook his head at the man in disapproval at his actions which prompted the offender to get out of his car and words between the two men were exchanged. The offender then assaulted the victim causing facial injuries and as he returned to his car he scratched the victim's car with a sharp implement like a key.
The offender is described as white, male and around 35-years-old. He had short brown hair and was wearing a grey sweatshirt. He was driving a (BMW)Mini car.
Anyone with information on this incident should contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 209 of January 22.
