A 71-YEAR-OLD woman was assaulted and had her handbag stolen in Gloucester.
The incident happened at the junction of Henry Street and Honyatt Road at around 11.45am on Tuesday, January 19.
The 71-year-old victim had just paid her newspaper bill at her local newsagents when she was walking home along Denmark Road, Heathville Road and Honyatt Road.
As she crossed the crossroads at Henry Street, she became aware of a presence behind her.
A man then assaulted the victim before taking her handbag and running off in the direction of Heathville Road.
The offender is described as white, in his late teens or early twenties and around 5ft 10ins tall. He was wearing a dark, possibly brown jacket.
Anyone who may have seen this incident is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 137 of January 19.
