A 28-YEAR-OLD dad was robbed in Dursley while out with his young child in a pushchair.

The incident happened in a pathway off Kingshill Road at about 12.50pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

Police are urging anybody who may have information on the crime to come forward.

The victim, who lives in the area, was walking back home with his young child in a pushchair after doing some shopping in the town.

He was approached by a white man, believed to be between the ages of 25 and 35, who initially asked for change. When the victim said no, the offender became aggressive and demanded the young father hand over his Galaxy S6 smartphone, a black leather wallet containing some cash and a gold chain necklace.

The robber is described as being about 5ft 10ins, of average build, with short, dark hair. He was wearing a black ‘plastic-looking’ jacket and blue jeans.

Reaction to the incident has been strong on social media.

One Facebook commenter said: “Makes me so mad that these idiots commit a crime in front of kids. Lowlife doing this to the young man.”

Another added: “Absolutely disgusting that someone would do this. Hope the father and child are okay.”
