POLICE are appealing for further witnesses to come forward in connection with an assault in Cheltenham earlier this month in which two of the suspects wore a single boxing glove each while beating their victims.

The incident happened in Jenner Gardens on Jenner Walk, near the bowling club, between 10.20pm and 11pm on Friday, July 15.

Three men, two of which wearing a glove each, approached a group of other men and launched a vicious attack that saw two victims punched and kicked to the floor.

A 45-year-old man suffered extensive bruising and swelling to his eyes and face while a 36-year-old man suffered a suspected broken nose, severe bruising and swelling to the eyes.

The offenders were described as white men wearing dark clothing. The tallest was around 6ft 3ins tall and the smallest was around 5ft 10 ins tall.

Anyone who witnessed the incident but hasn't yet come forward should call 101 and quote incident 583 of 15 July.

A 32-year-old man from Cheltenham has been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident and has been bailed to return to police on 2 September pending further inquiries.
