BEAUTIFUL scenes from locations in Wotton-under-Edge feature in next year’s town calendar, which is now on sale.

Funding raised from the calendars will go towards the preservation of the Heritage Centre.

Jeff Walshe and his son, James, are keen photographers and have enjoyed taking all of the pictures used in this year’s edition.

Janet Walshe, Jeff’s wife, said: “We use snaps of places in and around Wotton. This is very popular and what people seem to want.”

Each month has a different sponsor who are mentioned within the calendar and on the Heritage Centre’s Facebook site.

“So next May and August we have pictures of a lovely, lovely streets of houses. Ian Pullen Tree Management are sponsor May’s page.

“October is Synwell Playing Fields, it’s a beautiful shot with a fabulous backdrop. That page’s sponsor is Wotton Osteopathic Practice.”

The calendar can be purchased for £6.50 from the Heritage Centre, Daisy M Vintage, the One-Stop-Shop, Bear Street Garage, W.H. Thomas & Son, and the Market Place at Wotton. The calendar comes with an envelope because many people like to send them abroad and give them as a Christmas gift.

Jeff and Janet Walshe are both retired and like to get involved with community projects. They have been producing the calendars since 2005. Funding raised used to be for the restoration and funding of the local cinema, which is now run privately, but they kept the calendars going to fund the heritage centre.
