THE first open event of the year at a new college in Berkeley will take place later this month.
Taking place on Saturday, January 28, the session from 10am until 1pm will provide an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the offering at Berkeley GREEN campus which is due to open in September.
Officially unveiled last month, the GREEN centre, which is run by South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College as a university technical college (UTC) which will be developed to incorporate education, training, business start-up and research facilities over the next five years.
It will focus on the development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The Gloucestershire Renewable Energy, Engineering and Nuclear (GREEN) skills centre is part-financed by the Gloucestershire Growth Deal 2015 to 2021 from GFirst LEP – Gloucestershire’s local enterprise partnership.
