FILMING is underway for a major community project that features people from around Gloucestershire.

Over 100 people signed up to act in The Day That Broke, a film backed by Theatre Royal Bath that will be shot at 50 locations around Bristol and Bath.

The actors performing in the film come from communities in Gloucestershire, Bath, Bristol and Somerset, with ages ranging from six to 91 years.

The film follows six different stories revolving around a solar eclipse that mysteriously never ends.

Tom Brereton-Downs, director of the community driven film, said: "This is a bonkers project but one that's full of possibility.

"We’re particularly excited to encourage Bath and Bristol’s creative communities to join forces, and to show on film how vibrant and energetic both cities can be.

"We want to demonstrate just what you can achieve within the context of a 'community film' that relies on a large group of people coming together in a really positive way."

Filming started on February 6 and continues until March 6.

The original screenplay will receive its premiere on Wednesday, April 19 at Bath’s Komedia.
