FIVE peaks in the Dursley area will be scaled by charity fundraisers in an eight-mile trek.

The 14th Five Peaks Walk will take place next month, with dozens of hikers doing their bit to raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

More than £40,000 has been given to the charity over the years as a result of the popular event.

Participants will walk the 7.7-mile circular route encompassing Cam Peak, Downham Hill (Smallpox Hill), Uley Bury, Coaley Peak and Cam Long Down on April 23.

The route is solely on public footpaths, much of which forms part of the Cotswold Way, and climbs bout 550m.

Families and dogs are welcome to take part in the event.
