FLOWERS have been left at the scene where a 63-year-old man from Stroud died after having a suspected heart attack while cycling.

The 63-year-old man died after collapsing while cycling along the main road between Tetbury and Dursley yesterday.

Police, ambulance and the air ambulance attended after the man came off his bike near Hunters Hall in Kingscote, Tetbury yesterday afternoon.

A passer-by saw the man and called an ambulance, before administering CPR.

A police spokeswoman said: "The man's condition was serious and despite the best efforts of a member of the public and paramedics the man was declared dead at the scene. 

"The road was closed while emergency services were on the scene."

The A4135 was at Kingscote by police as an ambulance and air ambulance attended to treat the man, but the road is now open again.
