A WOMAN from Dursley completed Sunday's London Marathon in aid of charity Asthma UK.
Shona Darley, 42, took on the challenge as both her and her two children suffer from the condition.
Ever since she was a child Shona has wanted to run the London Marathon but never thought she would be able to run more than 100m because her asthma was so bad.
However advancements in treatment have enabled her to complete her dream while racing money for further research into the disease.
Shona said: “Every year I’ve watched people in the London Marathon step out of their comfort zone and achieve something amazing, and this year I wanted to take on the challenge.
"It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so grateful to Asthma UK for helping me fulfil one of my life-long dreams.
"Training has been difficult, but knowing the money I’ve raised will help such a worthy cause kept me going when the times got tough.”
