STAFF from a Gloucestershire charity will be hosting a course in coping strategies for children and young people with epilepsy in Dursley.
EPIC is offering the five-week parent and child mindfulness course starting on Saturday, June 3 at Dursley Courtyard Clinic.
The course includes fun and relaxed therapist-led small group sessions which aim to teach youngsters about breathing techniques, guided relaxation and creative reflection and expression.
EPIC state that mindfulness is a great way to deal with everyday challenges and anxiety, its courses also give young people a chance to meet and connect with other families living with epilepsy.
The courses run from 1.15pm to 2.30pm, are free of charge and suitable for children up to the age of 12.
There are approximately 500 children and young people in Gloucestershire with epilepsy, the charity aims to support the county’s youngsters with qualified epilepsy specialists and paediatricians.
Spaces are limited so it is advised to apply as soon as possible.
