HUNDREDS of homes in the Cam and Dursley area have been left with low water pressure or without water.

Severn Trent, which maintains the region's water network, said that an air lock had formed in the system which had created the problem.

Engineers are at the affected area and are now "bleeding" the system to fix the problem, a spokesman for the firm said.

The spokesman added that while it was a fairly simple task, it would take "a while" to have the system back to normal.

Residents have received messages from Severn Trent saying that they are aiming to restore water back to normal by midday.
