A MAN was left needing stitches in his head after a serious assault in Dursley on Sunday.
In the early hours of the morning the 35-year-old was attacked by a group of men and women in Kingshill Road.
Police believe the incident occurred at about 3.30am between Cedar Drive and Garden Suburb.
A mixture of males and females were involved and the victim sustained a head wound and an injury to his knee.
The following morning the victim realised his thick gold chain and cross, worth over £1,000, was lost or taken in the incident.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information, should call police on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk quoting incident 79 of July 23.
