A BRAVE Cam resident has risked his life to save the owner of a Cam Green home that burst into flames.
Three fire crews were dispatched, two from Dursley and one from Stroud, to the scene following reports at 1.05pm when smoke was sighted from the building.
A Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said that the fire had caused "75 per cent damage to the first floor" and "100 per cent smoke damage".
Firefighters tackled what has been described as a "well developed" blaze using two jets, two breathing apparatus and two hoses.
A man was rescued before fire crews arrived on the scene, who was then cared for by ambulance staff.
Reports on social media suggest the owner of the home was rescued from the fire by a brave passer by, having fallen asleep when the fire started.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Chief Stewart Edgar took to Twitter to praise his firefighters.
