A former Stroud College student headed back to campus recently to tell his teacher about his debut in Emmerdale.

Ex-SGS learner James Moore, who has cerebral palsy, made a first appearance in the hit ITV programme on Tuesday, June 6.

James played the son of a shocked Charity Dingle, who believed, for almost three decades, he had died at birth, but James’s stunning debut revealed that he had in fact survived.

Having studied Photography on the UAL Foundation Art & Design at SGS College’s Stroud Campus, James popped into SGS to tell his former teacher, John Stadnicki, the good news.

Speaking about his reaction, John said: “James turned up at college to say hello and announced to me that he had just won a contract to play a character in Emmerdale.

“I thought he was joking at first but then he presented me with his contract - I was amazed!

“I am incredibly happy for him. James would never give up on anything he set his mind to and is an example to all of us.”

Before landing his role in Emmerdale James had a role in the film Spaghetti Legs, where he played the character of Jay.

He’s also acted in Strawman by Rex Obano at the National Youth Theatre Epic Stages Showcase in 2017 and appeared in an adapted version of Romeo and Juliet by Kieran Mortell at a Playhouse Summer Showcase in 2017.
