POLICE helicopters joined the search for two men after a woman was found with knife wounds in Dursley.
Officers responded to a report of a man seen with a knife in Parsonage Street shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning.
A woman was found nearby with a knife wound to her hand.
The incident is believed to have taken place in Parsonage Street, Dursley.

The woman’s injuries are not believed to have been serious, but she is understood to have received medical treatment for her wounds.
Helicopters were heard above the town as they joined the search for the man, who fled the scene before police arrived.
While police from Stroud investigated the scene, two men were located and taken into custody by Wiltshire Police in Chippenham, which is more than 20 miles away from Dursley.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Another man, aged 28, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The two men, who are both from the Chippenham area, have been released from police custody pending investigation.
Witnesses reported hearing a commotion in the Market Place in Dursley at around the time of the incident, just prior to helicopters being heard circling the town.

Police taped off an area near Dursley Town Hall while they investigated the possible assault, but members of the public were allowed to access the area by the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A police spokesman said that the response to the situation had been a good example of a team effort between Stroud, Wiltshire and the police helicopter units.
Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, but have not already spoken to police, to call 101 quoting incident eight of Tuesday, June 12.
