FAMILIES in Cam have been celebrating the Great Get Together Weekend - in memory of the life of the murdered Batley MP Jo Cox.
The social afternoon at Cam Cricket Club was just one of a series of parties that took place across the UK last weekend.
The event - now in its second year - is all about celebrating the ‘things we have in common’.
Visitors to Cam’s Great Get Together on Sunday raised £60 for the Jo Cox Foundation.
Dozens of residents – including MP David Drew – popped into Cam Cricket Club during the afternoon with their families to watch the England match, play games, or and just eat and drink with friends.
Organiser Doina Cornell said: “It was lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves on such a sunny afternoon.
“The football result buoyed the mood, obviously, but it was great to see the community come together.”
Money will go to Royal Voluntary Service, White Helmets and HOPE not hate.
