Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, KG, GCVO, GCStJ, SSI the youngest grandchild of King George V and Queen Mary, visited some significant sites in Gloucestershire last week to celebrate the rich and varied history and traditions of the county.
The duke, who is 26th in line to the British throne spent the day meeting traditional fisherman from The Fish Hut, Newnham on Severn, touring the Soldiers of Gloucestershire museum in Gloucester and meeting veterans, as well as tasting some of the delicacies on offer at the Severn and Wye Smokery at Westbury on Severn.
Finally a visit to cut the cake and celebrate Glevum Window's special occasion.
A busy day, and a wonderful reminder of just some of the people and places that make Gloucestershire so special.
