Guests gathered in Wotton-under-Edge from Beaumont-le-Roger, Normandy to celebrate community exchange.

On May 18, 58 guests from Normandy, France arrived in Wotton-under-Edge for an exchange visit where they were met by their respective host families and welcomed into their homes for the weekend. It is thought to be the biggest contingent to come over in 31 years.

The guests (41 adults and 17 children) first took a river trip from Upton-upon-Severn to Worcester on the Saturday. Picnic lunches and games were then enjoyed, with some people patronising several local restaurants.

On Sunday evening everyone gathered at Swinhay House, by invitation of Sir David and Lady McMurtry for drinking, dancing and general bonhomie.

The French coach departed on the Monday morning after the farewells.

A return trip to Beaumont is planned for May, 2019.
