Thornbury Cider Festival took place at Old Down Country Park and Estate over the weekend. With large numbers of people enjoying the sun, drinks and music on offer.

The event was attended by around 500 people, who got to see acts perform in a 'Battle of the Bands' scenario.

There were also over 12 different varieties of cider on offer to customers throughout the day, with a number of other food and drink stalls also set up at the event.

Famous tv presenter Sherrie Eugene-Hart also had a stall at the event, where she sold a selection of Carib-Asian dishes to happy customers. There were also hog roast stalls and vegetarian food on sale during the day.

Teresa Dadey, one of the organisers of the event was 'delighted' by how the event went, revealing there will definitely be more like it in the future.

"This was obviously the first time we had ever done an event like this but I think it went really well," she said.

"We received really good feedback from everyone who attended, with most people admitting they could be tempted back again at some point."

The event also featured a performance from popular west-country band The Wurzels, something which Teresa said really helped pull everyone together.

"The Wurzels were just fantastic, they had everyone up on their feet singing and dancing, they were brilliant.

"The weather was beautiful which also helped, the children were able to go and play on the park. It just felt like a beautiful family event.

"The food stalls were beautiful as well, we actually ran out of some of it. They couldn't get enough of it. Don't worry though, we didn't run out of cider but some of the burgers were gone!"
