Slimbridge Parish Fete is set to go ahead this weekend after a successful appeal for extra sponsors.

The fete, celebrating 100 years of Slimbridge Parish, will take place at the Little Vintage Showground on Saturday, July 21.

Live music will be performed by Southside, The Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home is hosting a dog show and there will be a cat photo competition.

Other highlights include a bouncy castle, go carts, and traditional fete games such as 'hook a duck'.

A full bar and food stalls will also be available.

Committee member Sara Lewis said: "We are really pleased with the response from local businesses and individuals; it shows what a wonderful community spirit and support there is in the region.

"Our sincere thanks to sponsors such as John Stayte Services, The Tudor Arms, TJW Precision Engineering and Tudor Caravan Park who have all helped made the show possible."

The fete will begin at 2pm. The showground will also be open on Sunday, July 22 from 9am-1pm for a car boot sale.
