FOURTEEN stunning dresses from the 2017 series of the hit BBC One series Strictly Come Dancing will be on display in a special exhibition at Berkeley Castle throughout September.

The collection will be launched during an opening gala on Friday, August 31, complete with a red carpet, where the ribbon will be cut by former contestant Russell Grant.

Russell will also join a Q&A session with the Strictly Come Dancing live events manager at BBC Studios, Richard Curwen, and senior sales executive at DSI London, Carole Williams.

The exhibition itself will include the Spanish-style dress worn by Ruth Langsford when she took a dramatic fall during the Paso Doble with Anton du Beke.

Also on display is Alexandra Burke’s dreamy feather-trimmed ball gown, worn as she floated across the dance floor during the Viennese Waltz with Gorka Marquez.

Plus the Cinderella show dress worn by Katya Jones in the grand final with the glitterball champion Joe McFadden.

“We are delighted to have a dazzling Strictly Come Dancing costume exhibition in the beautiful setting of Berkeley Castle, displaying some of the fabulous gowns from the last series of Strictly Come Dancing," said Charles Berkeley, who heads up the team at Berkeley Castle.

"I couldn't think of a better setting than the castle’s great hall."

Richard Curwen, Strictly Come Dancing Live Events Manager at BBC Studios: "It’s a great opportunity to see the skill that goes into creating these beautiful costumes and get close to some of the sparkle of Strictly."

Carole Williams, senior sales executive at DSI: “It is wonderful that these much-loved dresses are getting the chance to be enjoyed by the public once more – and this time in the stunning great hall of Berkeley Castle. Creativity, skill, and a lot of late nights, go into our spectacular creations for Strictly Come Dancing and they are worth it."

Visitors will also discover details about each of the dresses on display, all of which are made in the UK, with each bead and crystal painstakingly attached by hand.

Tickets for both the Strictly Come Dancing costume exhibition and the launch party can be booked via: berkeley-castle.com
