HAWKESBURY Cricket Club have had their premises broken into, with a till being stolen from the facility.

The club revealed the news on their Facebook page, stating that on the night of Tuesday, August 7 between 11.00 and 11.30pm the premises was targeted.

On the post, the club said: "Sad news at our beloved club. During the night we had our club broken into.

"Some damage has happened to the pavilion itself. We’re appealing for any cctv in the village which may help assist us and add to the footage the police already have.

"We’re absolutely gutted. We’re a volunteer run club that gives joy to hundreds of kids and the heartbeat of the village, and to have to deal with something like this when everyone is putting so much effort into something for others to destroy is unbelievable."

The club also revealed that the till was found emptied on the side of the road towards Kingswood.

"We know they went in the Kingswood direction because we found the till tray in the bush between Hillesley and Kingswood," they said.

"So we’re looking for any cctv along the route from Hawkesbury to the Kingswood spar between 11-11:30 last night. There isn’t going to be many cars on the road on that time."

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police regarding the incident.
