A DURSLEY man who drunkenly offered amphetamines to customers in a bar was fined £250 at Gloucester Crown Court.
George Allsopp, 34, of Meadow Vale Road, was at his local pub in October when bar staff noticed him behaving strangely and heard him offer a barmaid some of the drugs.
When arrested he was found with 0.6 grammes with a value of up to £22, as well as 6.5 grammes of cannabis.
He told police he had been given the drugs by another man after beating him in a game of pool.
Allsopp had appeared at court earlier this morning admitting possession but denying the intent to supply.
Due to the small quantity of drugs involved and their minimal value, Judge Martin Picton asked if a trial might be avoided.
"You were drunk and behaving like an idiot," Judge Picton told Allsopp when sentencing him. "You were shooting your mouth off in a stupid fashion."
Allsopp was also in breach of a suspended sentence, the judge noted.
He was fined £250 plus £75 towards prosecution costs as well as being ordered to complete three days of 'specific activity' as prescribed by the Probation Service.
