WITH regards to the town's position over the last 10 years, one must say, there has been no improvement in most parts of the town.

The last 12 months has been the worst, as the town has been gridlocked on numerous occasions. This was due to the town council having no finance for car parks. Further to this, Stroud District Council has informed the town council, they will not pay for the chipping car park any longer. Add to that the landslide on the Old London Road has not been repaired for 12 months and it could be another 12 months before repair. Next in line would be the job losses, which amount to 800 over the 10 year period.

Potters Pond could have acquired many jobs if they had units instead of houses. Stroud council proposed to demolish the Full Moon pub and build 24 houses. This was opposed by the Synwell community and is still ongoing.

Finally the nail in the coffin was the grant of 1.4 million pounds to the Dursley swimming pool. Wotton had to raise their council tax to run their pool.

The people of Wotton should have regular meetings with the town council to inform them of their views and the town council should ask themselves, "Are they losers or winners?" Their record will show them, what they are.
