COULD I thank the anonymous Good Samaritan who picked up my dazed and bloodied wife on Saturday morning and took her to the Vale hospital? Whilst out for a run (in a high visible jacket) she had been knocked down by a speeding cyclist in Church lane, Stinchcombe and left with severe facial injuries.

This lane down to the church becomes a race track for cyclists at weekends and a number of them seem to have little regard for pedestrians or other traffic. it was an accident waiting to happen. May I also thank the staff at the Vale hospital who carried out initial treatment and praise the maxillo-facial surgeon at Gloucester Royal for her expertise in putting my wife back together.
