ON Saturday, September 20, I was walking down Wotton's High Street to do my weekly shopping and a friend with a trolley caused me to stop whilst wishing me a 'Happy Birthday'. After thanking her I turned to pass by and remember putting my foot into the gutter but suddenly down I went on to the road and everything went blank.
When I became conscious good Samaritans aided my recovery by providing a chair, a cushion and an ice pack for the bump on my head. Paramedics turned up and gave me the 'once over'. When I was given the 'all clear' the caring person who had ministered to me throughout my ordeal took me home in her car.
I am still a bit bruised and battered. To all those unknown people who tended me in my 'hour of need' I offer my sincere thanks.
