THE line of cars parked in Thornbury and causing problems over the months is not in Morton Way but Midland Way. Problems are very real in both roads which form Thornbury's by pass.

The council seems unable or unwilling to deal with this dangerous obstruction to motorists. The firm which generates this problem isn't taking it at all seriously as they are mow recruiting more staff (with inevitable more cars). Already the parked cars are creeping along Midland Way towards Link Road. Last time I passed by I counted over 50 cars parked in a long "snake" creating problems for hundreds of yards. This would be bad enough for cars but the huge delivery lorries are a constant hazard.

Morton Way has it's own problems exacerbated by the Bloor Homes development. Today several huge lorries raced down the road at speeds that were highly inappropriate. No-one does speed checks and when the site first opened there were vast numbers of massive lorries carrying earth speeding along the road and threatening to cause a serious accident.

When all the builders have lorries and extra car traffic what chaos will be caused in Butt Lane?

Did Thornbury Town Council realise what a change they have wreaked on Thornbury by indicating housing developments were welcome? Most residents are very dismayed because this offer was not made in their name and they are now watching in horror as a third builder (Linden Homes) emerges from the shadows.
