HAS something gone wrong at Gloucestershire County Council’s Road Division South, no road repairs seem to be going on anywhere. Example One take the potholes at the junction of Henlow Drive and Bull Pitch, BEEN LIKE IT FOR OVER A YEAR, Six potholes marked for over five weeks but no repairs, Example two the roundabout at Bull pitch, turn towards Woodmancote and the car decides to have a will of its own and you are heading for the pavement. Example three the junction of Kingshill Road and Blackboys, the roundabout is in need of urgent repair, potholes everywhere. Has the county run out of money, with over £125-000-000 in reserve, is the current road contract not all what it was cracked up to be, is someone ill and nobody to take charge. May I suggest that the Chief Executive of the county council investigates, if the situation is like it is in the south of the county, what is the rest of the county like, the taxpayer deserves an explanation. While we are on the subject of potholes, why does it need two people to mark a pothole with a white spray can, make a report, type it on to a computer, issue an order to the workman, and I guess I have missed out over half a dozen further operations this is over £400 already wasted, and not a shovel full of tarmac laid, two men and a small lorry could cover the south of Gloucestershire in a month at a fraction of the current cost.
