Easy Access Buses

I WAS interested to read the front page article about changes to routes by Stagecoach. More than two years ago I contacted Cotswold Green bus company and Gloucestershire transport department on a similar matter. Cotswold Green had replaced the low/easy access buses on the route along Woodmancote with high step vehicles. My elderly friend was no longer able to come into Dursley for her shopping and has since then had to rely on friends to shop for her. The answer that I received at the time was that in due course all high step access buses would be replaced by low level access vehicles; in fact this would be the law by 2014. So what is going on here? My friend is now totally housebound so for her the matter is no longer relevant. It sounds from your report that Mrs Gardner is struggling to access one of these out of date buses. In which case the excuse I was given at the time was a lie, or the bus company concerned is breaking the law. It is now 2014 so easy access buses should be here! It might be interesting for you to follow this up and establish the facts of the case.
