I AM absolutely incensed by your damaging article (November 27) regarding the very good Culverhay Surgery in Wotton. Of course, patients are 'at risk' of being provided with inadequate care, as are all the patients of all the doctors in all the land. Listen to this years Reith Lectures and you may understand why medicine today is extremely complicated and no doctor can know everything. At Culverhay, I am very impressed by our doctors' speed in contacting and sharing knowledge with specialists in other medical centres. I have been a patient at Culverhay since 1965, and with all the illnesses which I and members of my family have had during those fifty years, I have never lacked confidence in the care provided.
I hope the Gazette will soon find a reason to give our doctors a big pat on the back for their hard work and the care they give to us.
