I WOULD like to bring to people’s attention about Midland Way in Thornbury.

When I noticed for the first time that there were double yellow lines on that road I was initially pleased that something had been done about the parking along that road. With the large amount of traffic that uses that road particularly all the large lorries that use it.

I am really puzzled why no one in South Gloucestershire Council or who ever makes those decisions still can’t see the dangers that still linger on despite the double yellow lines in place.

I am sure that I won’t be the only person that agrees that it is still a very dangerous road, bearing in mind there is very little space between vehicles when driving along that road, during business working hours in particular, at the best of times.

If one is a regular user of that road, it is only then people will see what the real dangers are still there.

I don’t feel that leaving some legal parking there is the answer, as the width of certain vehicles hasn’t in my view been taken into account at all.

I did experience an incident along that road last year during the summer months, when the sun was right in my eyes and my previous car at that time was certainly damaged.

What has to happen before action is taken to make that road and many others like it more safer for the local communities?
