AS A reader of the Thornbury Gazette I am grateful at being told by newly elected UKIP councillor Phillip Winter that "I will be full of gratification to learn that UKIP councillors are now on the council at Almondsbury."
I am also pleased to note that with him there will be no more communism. Hopefully this will mean an end to such insidious Bolshevik concepts as the public provision of schools, street lighting, social services and schools, and as for those "red" fire engines, they will definitely have to go.
