I WONDER what people who went in the first bus in Thornbury in October 1906 would think of our modern buses!
In a new No 78 bus we are told where the next stop is and if the bus is stopping at it. This is especially helpful when it is dark as one can easily miss the stop to get out.
However there is a sting in the tail: seats in some of the new buses are so narrow that those who are not so slim may feel uncomfortable.
Writing about buses I would point out there are problems because of so many cars parked on the road in the lower end of Avon Way Thornbury. It may not only be difficult at times seeing people at the bus stop but it could also be a hazard for drivers.
