A COUPLE of weeks ago several neighbours and myself received a letter from Wales and west utilities stating on November 25 our gas will be turned off for the day.
Early in the morning a knock on the door and a Craig Davies from Thompson Utilites, who were contractors doing the work, apologising for the inconvenience and I mentioned I have just had eye surgery and it was my 60th birthday and I was feeling rather sorry for myself.
Later in the day a lovely card was put through my door and enclosed was vouchers for a local restaurant in our town and it was from Thompson Utilities apologising for cutting off the gas board on such a special day.
I was overwhelmed.This made my birthday and cheered me up no end.
Several neighbours have asked me to say how polite, friendly and hardworking they were. What a credit to their firm.
