I WAS pleased to read Peter Jackson’s letter ('So many new trees') in the Gazette last week and glad to know that the new trees springing up around Thornbury are being appreciated.
We have been working to increase the number of trees for the past six years and have planted 87 so far with the 100th being planted in the autumn!
The funding has come from Thornbury Town Council, Thornbury groups and an increasing number of residents, some of whom are wanting memorial trees.
Further information, requests and donations for trees can be made to me at Thornbury Town Council.
