A SPECIAL committee has been formed to probe claims of alleged wrongdoing at Stroud District Council.
An announcement that four cross-party councillors have been selected to help with an inquiry was made by the council’s chairman Cllr John Hudson last week.
The councillors selected to launch the investigation are labour councillor Roger Sanders, Green councillor Simon Pickering, Lib Dem councillor Paul Hemming and the council’s vice chairman Conservative councillor Alex Stennett.
It is not known what the panel will be investigating though it is rumoured to be about officer and member relations.
It is understood the panel will meet this week, after which more information may be made public.
A spokesman for Stroud District Council said: "The chairman announced that he was initiating an inquiry and at present any particulars relating to it are being dealt with confidentially by the councillors on that panel."
